ENGLISH SOCIETY

Submit your completed blog post by a minimum of one week prior to the Tuesday you would like to be published to be copyedited and considered for publication on our blog. Included with your properly formatted document (Times New Roman, 12-point font, double spaced, 1-inch margins, indented paragraphs) should be a short personal biography and professional looking headshot. We hold the right to publish, not publish, and copyedit every submission as we see fit.

Your blog post should have a minimum of 100 words for all prose works (short stories, reviews, etc.). Poetry does not have this minimum. All works must not exceed 750 words. We request that your blog posts stay appropriate and on subject to our blog, being “a bookish collection.”

Your biography should include your full name, first and last, home town and state, year at Ferris State University or other institution if applicable, major and minors if applicable, career aspirations, and one to three interesting facts about yourself. If you are a member of the English Society on Ferris State University's campus, you may also indicate your status as a general member or eboard member. Your headshot should be professional looking, with you fully clothed, showing only from the chest or shoulders up. In your submission, there should be three separate items: your blog post, short biography, and headshot.

Each submission received by the English Society must comply with the terms and conditions set here, and by submitting your blog post for consideration you have accepted these terms.
